Membership Agreement

This Membership Master Agreement (“Agreement”) governs participation in the Chicagoland Trust Membership Program (“Membership Program”) offered by Chicagoland Legacy Group, LLC d/b/a Chicagoland Trust (“Chicagoland Trust,” “CT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By enrolling in a Membership tier, activating a complimentary workshop membership, or accessing Membership benefits, the Member (“Member,” “you,” or “your”) agrees to the terms below.

 


 

1. Purpose of Membership

The Chicagoland Trust Membership Program is designed to provide Members with ongoing educational resources, organizational support, trust stewardship guidance, scheduling access, and related support services associated with maintaining and understanding their estate planning structure.
 
Membership is intended to help Members proactively manage life changes and maintain continuity in their estate planning process through structured support, education, and coordinated review opportunities.

2. Nature of Services

Chicagoland Trust is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

Legal services, including the preparation or revision of legal documents, may be performed by independent licensed attorneys engaged separately in connection with a Member’s estate planning needs.
 
Membership benefits may include coordination assistance, educational guidance, scheduling support, and organized review opportunities; however, Membership itself does not constitute legal representation or establish an attorney-client relationship.

3. Membership Services

Membership benefits may include, depending on Membership tier:
  • Access to educational video content and resources
  • Access to retirement and estate planning workshops and events
  • Scheduling access and consultation opportunities
  • Ongoing trust stewardship support and organizational guidance
  • Coordination assistance relating to trust review requests
  • Priority scheduling access based on Membership tier
  • Included trust revision requests within Membership guidelines
  • Access to community and educational programming offered by CT Specific membership terms, pricing, billing cadence, and cancellation policies will be disclosed at the time of enrollment and may be updated from time to time.
Specific Membership benefits vary by Membership tier and may be updated periodically by CT.

4. Membership Tiers

 
A.  Essentials Membership
Current Annual Membership Fee: $299/year
Essentials Membership may include:
  • Access to CT educational resources and video library
  • One (1) 70-minute consultation session annually
  • Up to three (3) scheduled quarterly trust revision requests annually
  • Standard scheduling priority
  • Access to select Member events and programming
 
B. Preferred Membership
Current Annual Membership Fee: $499/year
  • Preferred Membership may include expanded scheduling access, increased review opportunities, enhanced Member support access, and elevated scheduling priority.
  • Specific benefits are described in current CT Membership materials.
 
C. Charter Membership
Current Annual Membership Fee: $799/year
  • Charter Membership is a limited founding-level Membership tier that may include enhanced access, priority scheduling, special Member recognition, and additional benefits as determined by CT.
  • Availability of Charter Membership may be limited.

5. Workshop Complimentary Membership Activation

Eligible workshop attendees may receive a promotional code providing one (1) complimentary year of Essentials Membership.

  • The complimentary Membership includes access to applicable Essentials Membership benefits during the complimentary period.
  • Unless canceled prior to renewal, the Membership will automatically renew at the then-current Essentials Membership annual rate in effect at the time of renewal.
  • Instructions for cancellation are provided in Section 7 of this Agreement.

Promotional Membership offers may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time for future participants.

6. Trust Revision Framework

Membership includes access to structured trust review and revision opportunities within the limits of the Member’s selected Membership tier.
 
Certain revisions, updates, restructures, or legal changes may require review, approval, or additional work by an independent attorney and may result in additional fees outside the scope of Membership benefits.

Examples of matters that may require separate legal engagement or additional fees include, but are not limited to:
  • Major estate restructures
  • Tax planning changes
  • Business succession planning
  • Advanced asset protection strategies
  • Significant trust rewrites or restatements
  • Real estate or multi-state planning complexities
CT reserves the right to determine whether a requested change falls within Membership guidelines or requires separate engagement.

7. Billing, Renewal & Cancellation

Membership fees are billed annually unless otherwise specified.
Memberships automatically renew at the applicable annual Membership rate unless canceled prior to the renewal date.
Members may cancel Membership at any time by:
  • Emailing: support @ chicagolandtrust.com
  • Calling: (888) 526-4053
  • Submitting cancellation through the Member portal, if available Any engagement with third parties is solely between you and them.
Cancellation will stop future renewals but will not retroactively refund Membership fees already paid for the active Membership period.
 
CT may update Membership pricing, benefits, or structure upon reasonable notice prior to renewal.

8. Member responsibilities

Members are responsible for:
  • Providing accurate and updated information
  • Reviewing legal documents provided by independent attorneys
  • Responding to requests for information or documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintaining secure access to their Membership account and materials
Members acknowledge that estate planning outcomes depend upon complete and accurate information provided by the Member.

9. No guarantee of legal or financial outcomes

CT does not guarantee legal, tax, financial, or estate planning outcomes.
Educational materials and Membership resources are provided for informational and organizational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for individualized legal, tax, or financial advice.
Members are encouraged to consult with qualified legal, tax, and financial professionals regarding their specific circumstances.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chicagoland Trust shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from participation in the Membership Program.
CT’s total liability arising under this Agreement shall not exceed the Membership fees paid by the Member during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Modifications 

CT reserves the right to update or modify this Agreement periodically.
Material changes will be communicated through reasonable notice methods, including email or Member portal notification.
Continued participation in the Membership Program after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.

12. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) in accordance with its applicable rules.

13. Acceptance

By enrolling in or activating Membership, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Membership Master Agreement.
